For admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a pen-and-paper medical entrance test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA); Formerly known as AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) it is an all-India pre-medical test. Every year lakh of students participate in the NEET exam with the objective of getting admission to one of the most renowned medical institutes across the country.

All those students who are able to successfully clear the NEET exam avail a seat in any of the Medical programs such as, MBBS, BDS, Nursing, and various other AYUSH courses, offered in both private and government institutes all across the country. Following the ‘One Nation, One Test’ policy NEET has emerged a one-tier national-level entrance test ending all the state-level and national-level entrance tests.

When will NEET 2026 be conducted?

The NEET UG 2026 examination will be conducted on 03 May 2026, as officially announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The registration process started on 08 February 2026 and will continue until 08 March 2026. All important dates and updates are published in the official information bulletin on neet.nta.nic.in, so candidates are advised to regularly check the website for official announcements.
